This building has quite a history. Originally built in 1986 as a Thalhimers after the store relocated from a smaller 1 floor location within the mall, the store remained as such until 1991 when May Co converted this store into a Hechts. Hechts didn’t stay in this location for long and relocated to a new location across the mall in 1994. Belk Leggett (Hudson Belk post 1998) operated in this location from 1995 until early 2005 when it closed citing poor sales. Shortly thereafter this building was gutted and reopened as a movie theater, although they left the exterior of all but the front side of the theater almost untouched.
